What it is
The dent comes out; the factory paint stays.
Paintless dent repair (PDR) reshapes the metal instead of covering the damage. The technician reaches behind the panel and presses the dent back out, so there is no filler, no sanding and no repaint, and the car keeps its original finish.
It suits dings and small dents where the paint is not broken. Deeper damage, creased metal or cracked paint usually needs conventional collision and body repair instead, which happens in the same shop.

The metal is pressed back to its shape from behind the panel. No filler, no sanding, no repaint.
